The Omaha Junior Lancers would like to announce the date of our first annual Dinner / Casino Night fund raising event. Please circle the evening of Friday January 16, 2009. The date we have set is a home weekend of CSDHL games for both Jr. Lancer teams.

The Midget Minor team braved the snow and ice in their travels to Faribault, MN. They also found themselves in arguably the toughest draw in the Shattuck U16 AAA tourney this past weekend. The schedule brought with it 4 games, all vs. top twenty AAA teams. The Junior Lancers dropped two games against the eventual championship game participants, Milwaukee Jr. Admirals ( 5-1 ) and Team Illinois (11-0). But the boys rebounded with two gutsy wins that were clearly upsets. Grinding out identical 2-1 wins against two top AAA teams. Friday evening they beat the #12 ranked Dallas Stars, and Sunday afternoon the topped #9 ranked P.F. Changs. Two big wins to start a well deserved holiday break.
The U16’s resume action with CSDHL games in St. Louis vs. Chesterfield on Jan. 10/11.

The U16 team had an undefeated weekend in Chicago. Saturday the Junior Lancers tied the Northwest Chargers 4 to 4. A bit of a disappointment as the team led 4 to 1 after three periods. That night the team beat the Crystal Lake Yellow Jackets 4-2 in a non conference game. Sunday morning completed the weekend with a 6 to 1 victory over CSDHL foe the Chicago Flames.
A short week ahead as the boys prepare for a weekend tourney at Shattuck. The boys will be in the Shattuck AAA tournament starting Friday morning.
