Travel Teams - Jr Mavs
Welcome to our OHC competitive Travel Program page. Our Junior Mavericks Travel Program is designed to develop young athletes both as hockey players and as individuals. With top-notch coaching, competitive opportunities, and a focus on sportsmanship and teamwork, we are dedicated to helping our players reach their full potential. Our teams are all formed by a tryout process in August of each year. Join us as we strive for greatness, on and off the ice, and create lasting memories and friendships along the way.
Divisions and Teams
The teams in our Travel Program are dependent on numbers and skill on a year-to-year basis.

Age is determined by birth year. The 2025-2026 Season 10U is any player born in 2015 & 2016, 12U is any player born in 2013 & 2014, and 14U is any player born in 2011 & 2012.
Season Information
Our regular season runs from October to March. Some teams may start preseason activities as early as late August.
Practices & Games
Teams practice 3 times on-ice and 1 off-ice dryland session a week.
Teams on average will travel to 8-10 out-of-town tournaments a season. There may also be shorter travel for friendlies and league-play games. The schedule varies from team to team and is set by each team's coach.
Level of Play
Each team's coach, with the assistance of the Hockey Director and Travel Director, will assess what level is best for that season's team to compete at.
Most season our Black team is AA/A, Red team is A/B, and White is B/C. (This varies year-to-year due to final team rosters and also location of play)
2025-2026 Tryouts
Registration for the 2025-2026 Season Tryouts will be available on May 1st.
- White team(s) will be announced if tryout registration dictates a team is available at that age level.
- ALL players wishing to be played on a travel team must attend all tryouts until placed on a team (starting with the black team).
